Chapin Auditorium is located in Mary Woolley Hall, in the center of the Mount Holyoke College campus. It is an acoustically beautiful, air-conditioned concert hall used both as a theater space and a multi-purpose facility.

Driving Directions

To get to Chapin Hall from Interstate 91, take Exit 16 toward South Hadley. Head east on Route 202, turn right onto Route 116, drive approximately 1.5 miles to the campus, turn right onto Church Street, and take your first right into the parking lot.

To reach Chapin Hall from the Route 9 Connecticut River bridge, take Route 47 South directly into South Hadley center, turn onto Route 116 South, and follow campus signs.

Parking

During the weekend patrons can park anywhere on campus. The best lots are the Gaylord Library Lot across the street, The Gorse Center lot, and the Willits-Hallowell lots.  All of the Faculty and staff parking are available during the weekend. Remember, there is no parking enforcement on the weekends and no tickets will be issued. There is also parking in the South Hadley Commons in their lower lots  but it is recommended using this only as a backup for patrons who are comfortable doing a longer walk.Patrons of the VCC Concert Series are encouraged to look at the Mount Holyoke College Parking Map. 

Sweeney Concert Hall

Sweeney Concert Hall, Sage Hall at Smith College, Northampton, MA 01060

Sweeney Concert Hall, located in Sage Hall is heralded as one of the best concert halls on the East Coast. The comfortable, spacious hall seats more than 600, and its broad stage can readily accommodate the needs of a diverse range of performances, from solo recitals to large choral and orchestral ensembles. Sweeney’s excellent acoustics are suitable for both vocal and instrumental performances.

Driving Directions

To Sweeney/Sage/Smith College: From Route 91, take exit 18 and follow Route 5 North to the center of Northampton. At the 4-way set of lights, turn left onto Route 9 West (Main Street) and proceed through the center of the city to the next set of lights. At this point, you will see Edwards Church on your right, Academy of Music theater on your left, and Smith College front gate & a large collegiate building directly ahead of you on a little hill. Go through set of lights, get in the left lane.  Go up a short, small hill. Take Left at next traffic light on to West Street, then bear Right onto Green Street. Sage Hall is at the end of Green Street on the left, (144 Green Street).

Parking

There is often parking on the north side of Green Street,  in front of Sage Hall or at the parking lot halfway up Green Street (on the right/north side of the street). If needed, there is the Smith College parking garage (no cost). To get to the garage, go back up Green Street and take a right onto West Street. The garage is on your left just shortly after Forbes Library.
